Cub Scouts/Webelos Scouts Shooting Sports only at council/district camps

Because our Boy Scouting, Venturing, and Sea Scouting programs encourage all kinds of shooting sports, folks often want to know what Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts may do -- and the answer is archery, bb guns, and slingshots at council/district camps and activities only.

Each of the 3 Cub Scout shooting sports activities (archery, bb guns, & slingshots) has an approved patch/pin recognition program - where packs may award the patches and pins after completion of these activities at Twilight Camp, Noyo Webelos Weekend, or one of the camps sponsored by our neighbor councils.

Boy Scout troops, Venturing crews, and Sea Scout ships have the option to include more advanced shooting sports (such as archery, 22 rifles, and shotgun shooting) as part of unit outings.  Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts may not participate in any shooting sports of any level outside of council/district camps and activities.
