How Your Gifts Help Local Scouting

Remember what it was like to be a Scout? The adventures, challenges, friends, and fun? Even if you weren’t a Scout, you know what they stand for: character, confidence, leadership, and great memories.

Most Scouts’ day-to-day experiences with Scouting come through their individual packs, troops,  crews, and ships.  BSA units and their chartered organizations are supported by their local council in many ways, seen and unseen, through services provided at no charge, and through various activities and programs subsidized by Friends of Scouting donations.

Friends of Scouting donations help to provide:

  • Volunteer training and monthly roundtables
  • Membership and advancement records
  • Insurance coverage for organizations and leaders
  • Program supplies used at multi-unit activities
  • Membership recruiting materials used by units
  • Dedicated staff who support over 1,100 adult volunteers
