Order of the Arrow Unit Elections and Ordeal

The Order of the Arrow seeks to expand throughout the Council this year. The OA is Scouting’s Honor Society and serves to enhance the Boy Scouting program for youth who embody and demonstrate the high ideals of the Scout Oath and Law. Youth can be elected into the OA by their peers in an election proctored by an OA youth representative. Several prerequisites for youth must be met for candidacy:
  1. The registered Scout must hold at least First Class rank.
  2. Have taken part in at least 15 days & nights of camping in a two-year period, including a 6 day, 5 night camping experience at a local or national facility operated and accredited to the BSA.
  3. They must also meet the Scoutmaster’s approval of being a Scout who lives by the Scout Oath and Law.

If your Troop elects at least one youth, the Committee may nominate one Adult member of the unit to Orca Lodge for review. After being elected or approved the candidates must attend one of two Ordeals within the course of the year to gain membership status. Our first Ordeal is in four weeks, so if your Troop/Team has not yet scheduled an election please contact us.

 Ordeal Weekend coming soon

Each spring and fall the Order of the Arrow holds a Council wide Ordeal. At these events we induct our newly elected candidates and provide service work to our venue. On April 24-26 any newly elected or returning Arrowmen are encouraged to attend our 2015 Spring Ordeal at Camp Royaneh. Come join us for a weekend of service and fellowship.
