Youth Leader Training

Developing leadership in youth is a primary goal of our Scouting programs. Youth improve their leadership skills through practice and training as each unit conducts its meetings, outings, activities, and service projects.

There are numerous training programs available for Scouts BSA, Venturers, and Sea Scouts.  The one-day of basic training for youth leader is usually conducted by the unit.  Advanced training, such as National Youth Leadership Training, Kodiak, SEAL, etc. are conducted on a council basis and require that youth have completed basic training first and are approved to attend by his/her unit leader.
